Agricultural University
Agricultural university (AU) in Plovdiv was founded in 1945. There are four faculties that belong to the structure of AU: Faculty of Agronomy, Faculty of Viticulture and Horticulture, Faculty of Plant Protection and Agroecology, and the Faculty of Economics. As the Agricultural University has been both the Coordinator and Partner in a great number of joint European and international projects including TEMPHUS, PHARE, CEEPUS, COPERNICUS, FULBRIGHT, this has contributed to updating the curricula and study programs and their adoption to the European and world standards of university education. The AU is one of the first Bulgarian higher education establishments to have entered the SOCRATES/ERASMUS and LEONARDO DA VINCI programs of the EU.

Dr. Dimitre Nikolov is an associate professor and he will be CSA leader. He focuses on the analysis and modelling of landscape change, calculation and implementation of agri-environmental measures and NATURE 2000, rural development, ex-ante assessment models for agricultural policies. He was involved as a member of research team for preparing the agri-environmental payments for National Rural Development Plan 2007-2013. He was an expert in the project "Planning of soil protection actions and environmental practice implementation actions into five farms, below to Nature 2000 network in Bulgaria" in the frame of NatuRegio project, MAF, 2008.
Dr. Teodor Radev was a researcher at Institute of Agricultural Economics, Sofia from 2007 to 2009. Now he works as an assistant at the Agricultural University. He took part in the project CAP-IRE. He is a co-author of the books: "Sustainability of agriculture"; Farm management /handbook for successful agri-business".
Dr. Petar Borisov is an assistant at the Faculty of Economy in AU. He is experienced in FP7 programs - having participated as an expert in the project "EU Balkanvegetables" and the operative program "Competitiveness" in Bulgaria - head manager of the project called "Establishment of transfer technology centre - Maritza" in Plovdiv.
